The rules of using Origin.
Effective: 2026-04-16
1. The product
Origin ("the Platform") is an open-source framework, with a hosted Cloud layer in private beta, that puts marketing inside your engineering workflow: pull requests are the unit of marketing work, every release opens a marketing PR with the release note, changelog, blog draft, and social posts. You access the Platform under these Terms and any additional commercial agreements signed with us.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the accounts, credentials, and connected services (GitHub tokens, Slack webhooks, etc.) you provide. You are responsible for activity under your account.
3. Subscription and billing
The open-source CLI is free under its MIT license. Cloud is in private beta and not yet generally available; when it launches, plans and prices will be listed on the pricing page. Any paid engagement today is governed by a signed order form, whose commercial terms (billing cadence, refunds, and cancellation) control.
4. Ownership of outputs
Outputs generated by the Platform — tutorials, triage reports, outreach copy, videos — are licensed to you on a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free basis. You own the use of every artifact the Platform ships to your workspaces.
5. Acceptable use
You will not use the Platform to violate the law, infringe rights, send spam, reverse-engineer the system, or circumvent platform safety measures. We may suspend accounts that do.
6. Availability
The Platform is provided "as is." We target best-effort availability and will notify customers of planned maintenance. Service credits are available for Enterprise plans with a signed SLA.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
8. Termination
You may terminate at any time by cancelling in-product or emailing support. We may terminate for breach of these Terms or non-payment. On termination, data deletion follows the security policy.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes are announced by email to active customers at least 30 days in advance. The "Effective" date above is bumped on every change.
